Solitaire - Aces Up
Created by Paso Clip
Produced by Moo Town Games

Aces Up is part of the Solitaire Suite For Second Life created by Paso Clip and produced by Moo Town Games. It was introduced into the suite as part of version 3.6.

This game is also known on the internet as "Aces High". Aces Up is a fast paced game and one of the simplest games to play. Despite the simplicity of the game however, players should also know that Aces Up is one of the hardest versions of Solitaire to win.

Object Of The Game

  • Move all the cards to the foundation except the aces.
  • When the top cards of two piles have the same suit, you can move lower ranking card to the foundation.
  • Aces are the highest ranking cards.
  • The game is won when the only cards remaining are the 4 aces.

Foundations

  • There is only one foundation in Aces Up. It is to the far right of the four tableau columns.
  • All played cards are moved here except the aces.
  • The top card in the foundation makes no difference to the game.

Tableau
(4 columns)

  • Cards cannot be moved to any pile except for an empty space or the foundation.
  • The top card of each pile is available for play on the foundations or empty spaces.
  • Aces are always high for this game and are higher than any other card.
  • Aces can only be moved to empty spaces.
  • Spaces may be filled with any available card.
  • If the top card is the same suit but of lower rank than the top card of another Tableau spot, then you may click it to move it to the Foundation

Stock

  • Turn cards up from the stock to each tableau pile by clicking.
  • There is no redeal.

More Details :

The goal of the game is to eliminate all the cards except the four aces by moving them to the one foundation spot. (discard pile on the top right).

The opening tableau has four columns, each initially containing one card. Cards can be eliminated from the tableau if there is another exposed card of the same suit with a greater rank.

If a tableau spot is open, any exposed card can be moved there. You may also leave spaces open if desired.

In Aces Up, the Ace is the highest rank card and can eliminate every other card of the same suit.

Cards are dealt from the deck four at a time, with one card going into each of the 4 tableau stacks.

Cards cannot be moved except to an empty tableau space or the foundation pile.

The game is won when the only remaining cards are the four aces.

Example:

If these are your four available cards;

The 2 of Diamonds may be eliminated because the Jack of Diamonds (same suit, greater rank) is exposed. The player would click the 2 of Diamonds and then click the foundation pile to move the card there.

The remaining cards cannot be moved because there is only 1 of each suit exposed.

Example 2:

If these are your four available cards;

The 4 of Spade and the King of Spade may be eliminated because the Ace of Spade (same suit, greater rank) is exposed.

The remaining cards cannot be moved because there is only 1 of each suit exposed.

Example 3:

If these are your four available cards;

None of the cards can be moved because they are all different suits. This is known as a flash. The player would click the deck to bring out the next four cards.
